What Goiás sells there
Angola imports almost everything it consumes. Brazil's current export mix centres on food — sugar, meat, alcohol and seed — along with machinery, manufactured goods and vehicles. It is a direct sale, with no need to reposition the product.
Where the high margin sits
Transferring agricultural technology to Angola's central plateau, agroecologically close to the Goiás cerrado.
The rules of the game
- Foreign exchange. Moving currency out of the country has long been difficult. Much of the Angolan capital that invests in Brazil is already offshore, usually in Portugal — which changes both the route of the deal and who you talk to.
- Way in. Apex-Brasil has no office in the country. The route runs through trade missions and the commercial section of the Brazilian embassy in Luanda.
- Key trade fair. FILDA — Luanda International Fair.
